Disabled Access

The Lofthouse Surgery is approached by a series of shallow steps with hand rails, suitable for prams, pushchairs and those with walking difficulties.

Patients who use a wheelchair can gain access directly from the car park at the rear of the building where there is a ramp with a handrail. Press the button and speak to reception who will unlock the door for you. The Manse Surgery is approached by four or five steps from the main road, Marsh Street. Alternatively, it can be approached from the larger shoppers’ car park at the rear and the path around the side of the building, without the need for any steps to be negotiated.

At The Manse Surgery some of the consulting rooms are upstairs on the first floor. If you are unable to climb the stairs please inform the receptionist on arrival and the Doctor or Nurse will come downstairs to see you when your appointment is due.

Lofthouse Surgery and The Manse

We are looking for two Receptionists to join our busy team, working at either our Lofthouse Site or our Rothwell branch on a rota basis.  The successful applicants will work 30 hours a week, but will be willing to work flexibly when needed.  £8:20 per hour, 25 days annual leave and full NHS Pension.

Job A – Permanent

30 hours a week – 6 hours per day 12:30pm to 6:30pm Monday to Friday. Working between both sites.

Job B – Permanent

 30 hours a week – 6 hours a day Monday to Friday

The shift patterns will be mostly 7.45am – 1.45pm plus an early start of 6.45am once or possibly twice a week.   On occasion, the successful applicant will work 12.30pm – 6.30pm to cover annual leave. Working between both sites.

Reception experience/customer service is desirable but training will be given to the successful candidate.  You will work as part of a team of receptionists, maintaining a high quality and efficient service for the patients, Doctors and Nurses.

The successful applicant will be subjected to a criminal records check before being given a permanent role at the practice.

Current guidance from the Department of Health is that staff members working at the practice should not be registered as patients.  Therefore if the successful applicant is a patient, they will be asked to register with a different medical practice.
